There Will Be No Sleeping Tonight [ Alfred ] [M]

"... D-do you want to spend the night?"

Arthur covered his mouth immediately after he said the words, his face flushing mostly out of embarrassment. He hadn't meant to blurt out the question like that, but... perhaps it was a good thing that he had. He had been meaning to ask Alfred to stay over for a while now, ever since they had officially started a relationship, but he could never get up the nerve to actually say it. Until now, obviously.

They were currently at the end of their date, or they were supposed to be at least. Normally, things would have ended here, outside of his apartment building with nothing more than a kiss. And... perhaps that's still how it would end. He had no idea if Alfred even wanted to sleep with him ( though he certainly hoped so ). Thinking about it was making him nervous, made obvious by his fidgeting and refusal to look at Alfred. "Y-you don't have to, i-if you don't want to. I'd understand! I-I mean, we haven't really been together that long, a-and I don't want you to feel pressured or anything...." The stuttering didn't help at all.

He let out a shuddering breath, running a hand through his hair. "Shit... I'm rambling. I'm sorry." No doubt he looked like a fool. He just hoped Alfred wouldn't care. "E-er, I think... I'm just going to go inside. Good night!" he said it quickly, turning to face away from Alfred. Arthur hesitated to open the door, hoping that, perhaps, Alfred would stop him before he could walk away.

With their customary goodnight kiss out of the way, Alfred turned around to walk away, but Arthur's request stopped him in his track. He whirled around and stared at his boyfriend, gaping. He was shocked to say the least. Arthur had never, not once, gave him any sign of wanting to do it.

Damn, he sure looked cute with his hand covering his mouth and his face all flushed.

Bad Alfred. Back to the topic at hand. He shook his head and caught Arthur's hand before he could hide in his apartment and probably not show his face for a few days out of embarrassment. "We-well, if the offer still stands, I wouldn't mind staying..." And now he was blushing too. He couldn't help it. He really, truly wanted to do it, but... okay, so he was a virgin. Had he ever told Arthur that? He didn't know. "So, umm, yeah. Does it still st-stand?" He asked, fidgeting slightly.

His hopes were realised, it seemed, when Alfred grabbed his hand and kept him from walking away. Arthur swallowed before turning to look at his boyfriend, not feeling any less nervous. Honestly, he was surprised by Alfred's answer. "R-really...?" The other had always been the more affectionate one, but he never seemed interested in sex. At least, it wasn't something Arthur noticed. Perhaps he wasn't the only one feeling somewhat sexually frustrated at the end of each date...?

The only good part of this was that Alfred looked just as nervous as Arthur felt. But... he said he wouldn't mind staying. Arthur wasn't forcing him or anything, so this was okay. He took a moment to let himself calm down a bit more before giving Alfred a nod. "Y-yes, it's... the offer still stands.... So you can come inside."

He took Alfred's hand properly, giving it a light squeeze, before tugging him in the direction of the door. He couldn't remember if Alfred had ever been inside his building before, let alone his apartment. Oh, he hoped he hadn't left it a mess, or that Winston hadn't knocked over his plants. He didn't want to look like a slob. Somehow, though, he thought they'd both be too nervous to even notice the state of the apartment....

"Ye-yeah!" He tried to sound as confident as always, but a little tremor still entered his voice. Because, oh god, he was going to lose his virginity tonight. Probably. Unless Arthur chickened out, because Alfred sure as hell wasn't going to. Right? Right.

He smiled and squeezed back, noting that Arthur's palm felt slightly damp. Maybe he was just as nervous as him? But why would he be? He wasn't a...

"Artie...have you, you know, done this before?" He bit his lip. If Arthur didn't already know that he was a virgin, he sure knew it now. But hadn't Alfred told him that he was his very first relationship...? He didn't know.

Alfred stopped in front of the door and waited for Arthur to open it, his heart pounding forcefully against his rib cage. He briefly wondered if it could break one of his ribs with its strength. Then he wondered if Arthur could hear it. Or feel his rushing pulse by their joint hands.

Alfred’s question made Arthur wonder why exactly he was so nervous. No, this wouldn’t be his first time- far from it actually, so why was he affected in this way? Well… he might have an answer to that. "Y-yes… I have. But… never with anyone who meant something to me." He had slept with prostitutes and even other members of the Elite, but this was… different. Very different.

Suddenly a thought crossed his mind. He remembered Alfred telling him that this was his first relationship, just as it was Arthur’s first, and considering his position, it was doubtful that he could even get into the red light district…. That could only mean… "… is this going to be your first time?" The answer seemed obvious, but he wanted to confirm it anyway. That certainly explained Alfred’s own nervousness.

Well, there were only two things he could do now. He could either let Alfred go home, or open the door and let him in. Alfred said he wanted this, so surely he wanted to be let in? Why was he even questioning this anymore?

Quickly, he opened the door and pulled Alfred inside. There! They were one step closer to their goal. There was no turning back now. With some confidence gained, he led Alfred toward the stairs to head up to his apartment. Sure, they could have taken the elevator, but… there’s nothing wrong with going the long way, right?

Alfred told himself that the clenching feeling in his gut was because he ate something bad and definitely not the aftereffect of hearing that Arthur had had sex before. He wasn't jealous, he had no right to be...

But God damn it, he was. The fact that those flings meant nothing to Arthur was little consolation; Alfred could still feel himself bristling internally. He would just have to make sure his first time would be Arthur's most memorable one.

He coughed slightly, a blush rising on his cheeks once again. "Y-yes." And then his embarrassment was replaced by anxiety. "Does it bother you?" Alfred truly had next to no experience with these things. He had watched porn of course, but he had always been sure that he was into girls. Until he met Arthur. But he wouldn't chicken out now. He was sure his boyfriend would show him how to do it.

Alfred didn't fight Arthur when he was pulled up the stairs, not really minding forgoing an awkward ride in the elevator. He might have done something stupid out of sheer nervousness, such as jump his partner right then and there.

His suspicions were confirmed, and Arthur couldn't help but smile a little when he saw Alfred blush. "No, it doesn't bother me. Not at all." Honestly, he preferred it this way. He didn't like the idea of Alfred sleeping with anyone other than himself- and they hadn't even slept together yet. Not only that, but he would assure - or attempt to - that Alfred's first time would be pleasant. Memorable, at least. Arthur wished he could remember his own first time.

The trip up the stairs didn't take long enough in Arthur's opinion, but there was nothing he could do about that, really. Instead, he silently lead the rest of the way to his apartment and took his time unlocking the door. Stepping inside, his hand hovered over the light switch for a moment while he debated whether or not there was even a reason to turn on the lights. It was dark in the room, yes, but it wasn't like they'd be spending much time in his living room... right?

He chose not to turn on the light, and turned around to face Alfred, though he was hard to see in the dark. "W-well... here we are...." Rather than drag Alfred off to the bedroom to ravage him, Arthur stood awkwardly in the middle of his living room, eventually averting his eyes from Alfred completely. He hoped he wasn't making the situation uncomfortable... but he really didn't want to make the first move.

Alfred could feel the weight on his chest being lifted off. Thank God, Arthur didn't mind his complete lack of experience and probably skill. Alfred was happy, actually, that Arthur would be his first time. First love and first time should go hand in hand, right? It was always like that in fairytales and, although Alfred knew his life was nowhere near that of fairy tale prince's, it wouldn't hurt to follow them for a while.

'Fairytales don't really have sex in them though.' he thought, following Arthur into his apartment obediently. He waited for Arthur to turn on the lights, although he didn't really need them; after so many night shifts and sneaking around, he was pretty good with seeing in the dark.

Arthur shouldn't have been though, which was why Alfred raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth to ask for reasons, only to be cut off by Arthur's unsure voice. Was he as nervous as Alfred, even after having done this before...?

Always one to hate awkward and tense silences like the one they were about to be in the middle of, he decided to make the first move. Heroes weren't scared of anything, especially sweeping their partners off their feet. Taking a deep breath as quietly as he could, Alfred raised his hand and touched Arthur's cheek gently, stroking his cheekbone with his thumb. He didn't know what he was supposed to do, but kissing sounded like a good place to start. Slowly, with an edge of nervousness he would fiercely deny was there, he put his lips on Arthur's.

Arthur finally looked up at Alfred after hearing him take a breath, just in time to see the hand coming toward him. He leaned slightly into the touch, not taking his eyes off of his boyfriend. He was feeling somewhat less nervous already, knowing Alfred was making the first move. This meant he was really sure that he wanted to do this, and that there wouldn't be- well, hopefully- any regret between them afterwards. He didn't want Alfred to regret it, at least.

He wasn't sure what he had been expecting when Alfred kissed him. He supposed he thought it would be... different, more intense than usual. But, instead, it reminded him of every brief kiss they had shared at the end of their dates, which led to another sudden reminder. Here they were toying with the idea of sex, but they really hadn't gone very far at all sexually before this. Was this a good idea...? He pulled away for a moment, wondering if they should reconsider or perhaps suggesting that they take things slow and not go all the way tonight.

Yet, he couldn't bring himself to actually say anything. He wanted to sleep with Alfred, and damn if he was going to give up this chance just because they were, sort of, inexperienced. He was just thinking too much. However, if Alfred decided to reconsider later, well, that'd be a different story. Oh, how he hoped that wouldn't happen.

How long had he been staring at Alfred? Hopefully not a long time. Taking a breath, he leaned in and reinitiated the kiss with a bit more force than there had been originally. He wanted it to seem more... passionate, but he didn't want to end up moving too quickly and scaring Alfred away. Perhaps it would be best to let him move things forward at his own pace. Arthur had no doubt about being ready for this.

When Arthur pulled away, Alfred felt every single one of his insecurities slamming back into him. Oh God, was he that bad? Did that one kiss convince Arthur that he didn't want to have sex with such an inexperienced person after all? Would...would he leave Alfred? Or just continue with their relationship without sex? Alfred could take the latter, but not the former. No, definitely not the former. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Arthur because he sucked at being intimate.

And he was just staring at him. Was he trying to phrase his rejection in a gentle way? Alfred screwed his eyes shut, telling himself that he was going to be strong and accept being thrown out like a mature person would.

Alfred could barely stifle his sigh of relief when his boyfriend reinitiated the kiss. He wouldn't throw him out after all. He wanted to slap himself for letting his insecure thoughts get to him, but truth to be told, Arthur was doing a thorough job of distracting him from his own stupidity.

He found a nicer place for his hands anyway by wrapping them around his boyfriend's waist, pulling him closer. Kissing, he could do. They had done that before, even if their earlier kisses had never been quite so...well, hot sounded appropriate. Tilting his head for better access, he licked Arthur's lips hesitantly. He wasn't sure how to French kiss exactly, but he did know it involved putting their tongues into each other's mouth. Getting the other's mouth open was surely a good start.
